U.S. Battery Maker Clarios to Build $1B Critical Minerals Plant
On May 20, 2025, Clarios, the world’s largest manufacturer and recycler of low-voltage batteries, announced plans to invest up to $1 billion in a U.S.-based critical minerals processing and recovery plant. This initiative is part of Clarios’ broader $6 billion American energy manufacturing strategy, which allocates approximately $1.9 billion toward enhancing critical minerals processing and recovery. The company has completed preliminary site assessments and is considering Indiana, Texas, and Utah as potential locations for the facility
