Element79 Leverages MAPE Reform to Strengthen Social License for Lucero
On June 11, 2025, Element79 Gold Corp., through its affiliate GAE Peru, formally requested oversight from the Arequipa Regional Mining Office to advance the formalization of artisanal miners at its Lucero project. The move follows Peru’s recent policy shift centralizing artisanal oversight under the Ministry of Energy and Mines and extending REINFO deadlines to June 30. Element79’s strategy involves robust community engagement, with assemblies and meetings held in Chachas and Lima to build trust and secure land access. Dialogue with the Lomas Doradas miner group is ongoing, as the company promotes formalization through regional authorities. Plans for a communal processing center reflect Element79’s broader goal: aligning regulatory compliance with inclusive local development to reinforce its social license.
