Securing America’s Mineral Future: Congress Debates Rare Earth Strategy

On June 24, 2025, the U.S. House Small Business Committee convened a full hearing titled “Securing America’s Mineral Future: Unlocking the Economic Value Beneath Our Feet,” focused on strengthening the country’s rare earth and critical minerals supply chain. The session, chaired by Representative Roger Williams, brought together executives from smaller firms such as Rare Earth Salts, U.S. Critical Materials, Rare Element Resources, and Rivalia Chemical Company. Their testimonies emphasized the urgency of reducing America’s dependency on Chinese imports, which currently dominate the processing of rare earth elements essential to defense systems, electric vehicles, and renewable energy technologies
